Jeez, it's wrong for me to be up and about to leave for work before sunrise, but even wronger for you.

My new tights smell like balloons. I fear this will be distracting. But not enough to go upstairs and rummage through the sock drawer. Onward!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The news is reporting a multi-car pile up (no major injuries) in Japan that involved eight Ferraris, two Lambourghinis, a Rolls, and a smattering of Mercedes(es?). That would be something to see.

I like Khan Academy. The gamieness of it is actually fun. I have reviewed some math concepts on their site and spent time practicing.

Will it improve test scores? I'd say no. What improves test scores is actually intensive test prep where you practice not just the concepts but the actual format of the test.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The Dean of our School just sent out a note that she would like to meet with all avaialble faculty and staff in and hour and a half. I hate those meetings- usually it means that someone has died or is seriously ill or that the Dean is getting fired.

Since we are not a business, it usually does not mean lay offs.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Two teachers in Colorado have been promoting the idea of the "flipped classroom", where the students watch video lectures made by their teachers at home, and then do their "homework" while at school, where the teachers can give them guidance.

The status is NOT quo.

Flip teaching isn't actually all that new--it's very cool for certain lessons and classes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck with that, Sophia.

The news is reporting a multi-car pile up (no major injuries) in Japan that involved eight Ferraris, two Lambourghinis, a Rolls, and a smattering of Mercedes(es?).

That's bananas. Were they all going to or from some event? That article doesn't say, as far as I could tell.
