In more hilarious news: Pumpkin taught Loki he can perch on the endposts of the banister. In the 2.5 years I've been here, he's never tried that before, despite being a climb-all-things cat. So that's where he is, an oversized baby-seal-vulture peering down from the second floor. When I do get around to finishing the rails, will have to use a hard and durable finish...Pumpkin likes balance-beaming along them. Loki's too wide for that, thankfully.

Yeah, I don't either. I like my boss: he seems sharp and effective, and yet he's not making any efforts here. Either he thinks it's pointless, or he has a principled stand against that sort of thing, or he doesn't actually have any power to make an effort. (For instance I suspect he has no authority to actually manage My Nemesis.)
