Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Exactly! If there is a doll house, it must be played with!

One of my MiL's charms was that she felt the same way, so she'd fuss and dress up these 100some year old dolls in 100some year old dresses, change them into their Christmas finery during the holidays, etc. The dolls, alas, were all sold years ago, and the one remaining was bequeathed to her sister. I would have liked one of the dolls, but that's okay. We have several of the doll house sized ones to play with.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Doll houses are one of those hobbies that I would gleefully disappear into if I was independently wealthy. Because then I could decorate the doll house exactly the way I wanted, and I would have enough time to play with it.

Right now, I kind of need a doll house to keep track of logistics in the novel I'm working on. It's a completely valid reason!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I have done very little, though several of the things you mention, I need to do.

The major flaw in my plan is that the day did NOT end at noon. But my energy and brain really did.

This bodes so poorly for me expecting a maintenance call between 1 and 5. Oops.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Burrell, is there something doll-related I could help you with? I'll help if I can. If not, I can scare up some reference sites and books.

Our neighborhood is checking for water leaks and requires us to shut off water to the house. It's an old, old neighborhood, and houses have been torn down, added to, replaced, new ones built, since the last water line plans were drawn. Two guys plus H spent the morning trying to find the cutoff valve for our house. They took up the floor in the barn, they dug holes, they stood around with foul looks shaking their heads. H finally found it. I thought he was going to blow a personal gasket. Nice to know where it is, though.

Also? The gale winds the other night blew out the pilot light, and our hot water...wasn't. Better now.

I could be thinking...hmmm, condo?

Have any of you ever seen the phrase, "much to do about nothing?"

Mondegreen! Now I wish I could forget this exists, much like "per say" and "for all intensive purposes".

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Have any of you ever seen the phrase, "much to do about nothing?"

The writer means "much ado" like shakespeare, right?

Probably. I think it arose because someone, somewhere, didn't know "ado" was a word, and substituted what they thought was right.

Or it's a mondegreen.

(Also? I LOATHE "much to do about nothing" LIKE FIRE. But it's not the kind of thing you can correct in conversation without being That Asshole.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Man, I missed the nerdiest thing discussion!

Probably because I was being emo over being unable to make the ketaput dollhouse in time to have my Castiel and River Song dolls do bad things in it for the Hunt.

And by "unable to make in time" I mean, "got side tracked playing RPGKids and complaining that we only got 1xp for the Trixie the Unicorn adventure, and also possibly putting together an ebay Roll Your Own Holmes list due to accidentally falling into doll tweaking again, and, oh, right, watching Top Gear and spinning Clarkson RPS in my head."

Also, I'm wearing my River Song boots. And pricing out hotspot options.
