Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Punishingly Intricate

apple-bourbon pie??? holy yum!!!

I think you can make gougeres in a fussier but prettier way with a pastry bag, maybe? I am all about dropping them randomly sized with a spoon! Still always delicious!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You worked above Artisanal? Lucky girl.

I went there surprisingly little, considering. I mean, considering how I feel about cheese! But it's pricy and I didn't really like most of my coworkers.

Because books.

Yeah, it's not cheap at all. I've been there twice, but spread out over a few years. Definitely time to go back. I have to get S. up there.

I wonder if I could wrangle a night up there for our anniversary this year. I mean, in the city, as well as Artisanal.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Mmmm, pie. I made some last week for various get togethers (granny smith apple and brown sugar, my go-to pie). Tomorrow I'm eating store-bought pumpkin pie from the local hippie co-op.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm about to make my famous cranberry sauce for tomorrow's supper with friends. I should have done it hours ago.

I'm also trying to find a babysitter for Bartleby for when I am out of the house tomorrow. Weirdly, things going as well as they have is making it a little worse for the small guy. The sutures are driving him to distraction and I have been advised against doing anything topically to relieve the itching.

So I spend all my time staring at him and shouting LEAVE IT!

Poor doll.

I also thing I'm suffering from bread poisoning. After tomorrow, I'm straight back on the gluten-free wagon that I so spectacularly feel off of over the last two stressful months. My stomach is a mess, yo. Lesson learned.

Happy fooding folks!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want these. They have a pocket for a knife. Pocket for a knife.

I didn't already post that, did I? I like them that much. I might totally have.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I have just made two 2-quart casserole dishes of sausage stuffing to be baked tomorrow. For tomorrow's thing, we're taking that and REALLY GOOD COFFEE. And Xanax, because I will probably need it.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm about to go start these for breakfast tomorrow: [link] That should be both pumpkin goodness and sweet roll breakfast goodness!

We signed up to bring cookies for Noah's Thanksgiving party. The teacher bagged them all up individually and sent one each home with his class because they don't allow candy at school. [link] Um. Okay. But cookies are as sweet as candy! And all the kids who bring iced cupcakes for their birthday? ALSO as candy like as candy. Fuck if I'll bother to do cookies again. I'm pretty angry and weirdly hurt.

God, Kat, that link is breaking my heart. Happy Thanksgiving!
