I'll be in Chestnut Hill, Hil (heh). Northwest of Philadelphia, if that's more helpful.

And thanks, guys!

And, Kathy -- love your hair!!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

msbelle, I wonder if you could baste your turkey with a valium solution?

Not a holiday goes by that I don't wish this were an okay thing to do.

Yay, Perkins!

And yay moving, Jen! You do not need stuff. You need happy. And you've got that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

your mother antagonizing you is her way of forgetting about her health

She's not antagonising me...she's just shifting her angle to "There but for the grace of god go you..." She did try the self-deprecating "Well, obviously it turns out I don't know anything about nutrition" angle first, but I made her shut about that toute suite.

So I had broccoli with my dinner. But I will keep telling her to zip it and focus on getting well herself.

I almost don't want to tell you this story, but I feel the need to have someone share my squick. I just finished washing a huge mountain of laundry that's been on my basement floor since Saturday. Last load: bras and v. delicate items, done on the handwash cycle. (I am too lazy to actually handwash.) I take my silk dress out of the lingerie bag it was washed in to hang to dry, and from out of the bag falls a freshly laundered CAT TURD!!! I am beyond grossed out. And the dress is back in the washing machine. Both cats are still alive, for now.

Cass, thank you -- I'm going to paraphrase that this weekend. A lot. (Well, really just swap out the "you"s for "I"s. So basically quoting.)

She sort of wins.

Sue, I am so forgetting I ever read that. How awful.

Happy Moving Jen! If you have all you need to survive, why worry about more?

Thanks, Sue, and also... oh, dear re: the laundry. That is not on, kitties. Not. On.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Perkins!!

Kathy, cute hair!

JenP: very exciting on your move! May everything go smoothly.

One of the scavenger hunt items is a picture of a cat eating kale.

Hmmmmm....I have kale. And a cat. Need me to try it?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

And Hugh Dillon.

Yum. Canadian actors almost universally have really good genes.

Cass made me giggle. For some books, it's an achievement to just say you made it to the end. The bitter, painful, horribly written end.

Oh, great area, Jen!

But I will keep telling her to zip it and focus on getting well herself.

And that's what she's counting on. The back and forth is a slice of normal.

(I apologize. Antagonize wasn't the right word, but the correct phrasing wasn't coming to me. I meant it more in the vein of poking at a long-standing discussion that is older than dirt, but has passed into the realm of conveying lots of affection between the both of you.)
