A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

David, ITA. I am...getting more and more pissed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There has been a lot of bad-looking behavior by cops all over the place. It's shameful.

ION, my high school reunion is next week, and given that I'm wearing a dress and shoes I already own, I sure did manage to drop some money on it today. But all bargains, I guess. I went to Filene's Basement (going out of business -- sad) and got some cheap jewelry and nylons (and underwear. and hot chocolate), and Sephora for makeup, which actually I also kind of got a bargain on -- instead of getting an eyeliner and a mascara, I got a little sample kit with those two and eye shadow. AND I got the woman to put it on me, and it seems totally doable. And given how often I wear eye makeup, I pretty much need new mascara every time I wear it, so why not just get a little one?

And then I just got my eyebrows done, and she may have done the best I've ever had! Awesome.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm reading this post right now, about some of the most egregious police violence. [link]

hip deep in pie

Kathy, Sock Dreams doesn't have as good as selection of plus-sized tights as it did a year ago. Also, they are sometimes overly generous in stating how large their tights are. It's the Foot Traffic tights that I really like at that site: [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's just so naked in its motives. You can challenge a lot of things, but if you challenge economic inequity the police belong to the money and will hammer you down. Of course, that's always been the case but it's just so blatant.

And I think it's like watching water hoses and dogs being turned on people during the Civil Rights movement. It should radicalize people. Or at least move the center.

Re: plus-sized hosiery, if you only want black- or cream-colored rights, Hips and Curves has microfiber tights (a 2-pack!) that are pretty true to the size chart: [link]

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I am horrified by so many things, but my mind is stuck on pepper spray in what looks like a FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I mean, that is clearly designed for mass spraying, and it's completely, absurdedly, horribly overkill.

I had to stop watching.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The thing about the Davis protest, as one commentator noted, is that the cops could have gone in and put plastic cuffs and hauled them away. At no time were the cops under threat, and even after the crowd exploded after the spraying they only chanted "Shame on you!" and let the officers retreat.

It's also pretty galling how the office at Davis made a point of showing off the pepper spray before he sprayed it. like a magician with a prop.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Everyone really wants her to get a mani/pedi.

ita, during the chemo itself, mani/pedis are probably going to be off limits--too much risk of infection. I think painting her nails herself without the other stuff, or having someone else do it, should be okay thought.

I looked at ALL the houses today, or at least 5 hours worth. There is one that went on the market yesterday that I hope gets snapped up by someone else so I don't have time to forget that I don't want a big yard that needs a lot of work.
