Oh yeah, I totally wore bright colored tights under shorts and thought I looked SO AWESOME. In 1992. When I was 12. I also had a purple hat that I thought made me look like Blossom, which was also clearly the height of cool. It was only later that I graduated to wearing pajamas and vintage prom gowns to school.
ION, I just fixed my computer! I love when I can fix stuff by myself. Thanks, Google. Also, I saw the new Pedro Almodovar movie tonight, and
whoa.
Will have to sit with that one for a while.
Oh, and Perkins? WOOOHOO! May you have the whirlwind I did and land in a place you fucking love to pieces. (My next door neighbor is taking care of the cats. 5 others are emergency backups. I fucking LOVE my neighborhood.)
Is that the one with Banderas and the skin, Katie?
Parenting has been hard, wearying, smelly, boring and occasionally nauseating before, but we've totally been able to roll with it. Lately, though, it's just been the kind of no fun that drains your very soul, and I personally am utterly damned if I know what's prompting it or how to turn it around; I just know I'm fried, and it's actually fun to come in to work each morning. Working for a pure diva of a surgeon in a dysfunctional department--fun, and more restful than home! How wrong is that?
So not nearly all of that read familiar, but this "I just know I'm fried, and it's actually fun to come in to work each morning. Working for a pure diva of a surgeon in a dysfunctional department--fun, and more restful than home! How wrong is that?" that was my last year in NY and still the occasional week here and there. so sorry JZ and Hec, it is loads of no fun.
ION, day 1 of med change has been tolerable, kinda numb and dazed, but I put forth a LOT of effort to seem up. I know I did not fool the family, but I think I did pretty well at work and with mac.
Amy made me smile. thanks.
T'day is 5 days without work, I am really hoping to get some serious cooking and crafting on. People should come stay with us, just saying.
Oh, and that Pirate totally deserved it.
edited to make sense.
In college, I wore tights, usually black, but sometimes forest or burgundy under ripped up jean shorts, with black Docs, a white Hanes v neck men's undershirt, a black or colored bra and a vest or flannel pretty much 1992-1994.
Everthing but the bra, tights and shoes were at least two sizes too big. I was very...comfortable.
I still don't care much if a slight shadow of a black or colored bra shows through a light top, if I am going to a party or bar. Work or a nice occasion, no.
I don't even have jean shorts any more. Although I might have to change that this summer. My skinniest pair of jeans is too loose.

I wore leggings/tights/longjohns under shorts with floppy sweaters and sweatshirts in university. Hello, early 90s! Never formal shorts.
I actually have useful recs for people with upper respitory problems. Nothing that will shorten it, but something that may make the misery slightly more comfortable. Ear Nose and Throat surgeon who took care of my cancer recommended it to me: vaseline up the nose. Apply with one tissue, get rid of excess with another so that it does not go down the throat.
Help soften and reduce inflammation slightly so may (emphasis: MAY) even reduce the stuffiness a bit though only marginally. But will definitely help with soreness.
