Well, I lived through my first week of work. I think my boss is beginning to trust me a little, which makes her calm down, so I may yet survive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My, isn't this a pretty knife? I have one kind of like it. It doesn't have the clip, and it's a bit squarer. But it's sufficiently similar that there's no point me getting another one.

Someone else get one? So I can live vicariously through them?

Man, this developer really doesn't want to set anything up for me today. He wants to push everything off until Monday. Nothing happens next week, dude. He's not available. The vendor developer's not answering the phone. It's the second slowest week of the year. Definitely the slowest week I work.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I want a pair of bununocyalrs.

I've got one of those. It was a cat toy. But it scared the cats.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I would not be opposed to you describing it for me after you eat it.

Well, it's a fresh baguette from a local French bakery. So it's crusty, of course, but has that soft, cottony texture on the inside.

I cut off a quarter of it, and split it. I spread that liberally with Danish Creamery butter and toss it in the oven. When I take it out, the bread is hot to the touch and the butter has melted into the bread. The marmalade I've got is thick cut, homemade with a bright flavor and gorgeous orange colour. (That's right. With a "u.") I spooned it into the hot baguette, closed it up, wrapped the bottom with a paper towel because it was still hot to the touch and bit into it. Perfect crunch of the outer crust, and then the warm bread texture, melted butter and bright marmalade made my mouth happy. Very satisfying bite.

Very satisfying bite.

You are too good to me. God, that sounds so good.

I do have a fantastic bowl of chili by my side, but wow, does a baguette sound good.
