Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

lore says she did a lot of her own stunts in Tomb Raider

Bet she didn't take many blows or lift many weights or strike heavy strikes. I'm sure she can jump from shit to shit and dangle off buildings and twist herself into pretzels and do lots of that sorts of stuff. But she has less muscle mass than your average gymnast and there's punching that needs to be done, and punches that need to be taken. In 20 years of martial arts, not with that frame, not convincingly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

We just hired the strangest person.

The other day, she asked me what hotels I owned or something. On the one hand, I am glad that stereotype has made some headway, and on the other hand, you don't get to make racist jokes to me yet, missy.

And then today, she was asking my boss about getting married.

"You're getting married?" she asked.

"Yep," replied my boss. "In three weeks!"

"How exciting!" she said. "Is this your first time?"

...I-Is that a question people ask now? I mean what the fuck.

"Kind of an odd question," my boss said, clearly uncomfortable, "but yes."

Seriously, what the fuck kind of question is that? As my boss joked through strained teeth, "I've got a couple bad divorces behind me, thanks for bringing that up!"

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

To steal from Allyson: "Has she no social skills at all? Was she raised in a crate like veal?"

[on edit] x-post.

It just pings me in that place where I'm horrifically sensitive to body comments.

No, I get where you're coming from. I should go re-read what I wrote, because I guarantee I wasn't trying to be mean or unduly bitchy, and clearly it came off that way to several people.

Which is not my way of saying, "But, you misunderstood me!" It's my way of saying that I regret posting something that came off as cringe-worthy to more than one person. It is worth it to me to engage a filter or two so as not to set people off.

As for saying mean things about slender women -- I tended more towards saying, "Damn, I wish I looked like that." So.

What's your opinion on Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale as action heroines?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's your opinion on Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale as action heroines?

Me, I don't think Kate is particularly close-up tough. As long as she sticks to guns, she's perfectly fine with me. She moves okay.

Milla moves really well. Not fighter well, but dancer/gymnast well, which is just fine. She also looks like she could take a punch to the head or the stomach better than a Jolie or an SMG, for instance, but it's not something I can quantify. Looking bugfuck crazy never hurts, but she needs to look like she can take punishment as well as dole it out to make me feel comfortable.

another batch of the yo is this racist tumblr

God, that makes me angry. And not the tumblr owner. The questions he gets, and the criticisms. Jesus, people. Can you not hear yourselves.

So I owned up some shit to my sister in reply to her pretty random "you rock" email, and I hope she's sufficiently emotionally affected she doesn't clothesline me with feelings like that during the workday again. If I had been in the office, that would have been horrifically embarrassing.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Didn't watch the Oscars last night, since I haven't seen any of the nominated films.(Well, I've seen The Muppets and Puss In Boots)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I should go re-read what I wrote, because I guarantee I wasn't trying to be mean or unduly bitchy, and clearly it came off that way to several people.

FWIW, I wasn't referring to you personally with my agreement of Allyson's comment, I've just seen that criticism all over (FB, Twitter, etc.) and I am pretty weary of it. I actually do not even remember being pinged by anything said here, though I guess it's possible I just skimmed over it.
