"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Was there anything entertaining in any way in that Oscar beginning?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, I've done that in the past and it is super easy. A little wax, ruffle your fingers through and you're good to go.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Meryl Streep looks beautiful!

Billy Crystal's face is kinda freaking me out, not that I begrudge him wanting to look younger, but he just looks... weird... as if Christopher Walken was playing Billy Crystal. (Which btw would be a GREAT IDEA!)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Was there anything entertaining in any way in that Oscar beginning?

Yes.

Ooh, the sound was horrible on that opening number. Yikes.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

as if Christopher Walken was playing Billy Crystal.

Exactly! Good grief.

Jolie is too thin, Viola Davis looks amazing, and the dresses are all lovely, for a change. And the opening funny bit wasn't funny. Okay.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

mac found the opening funny, I did not.

So, we have found the presumed level of the generic American audience.

This is less than surprising.

msbelle, you could totally do that Jamie Lee cut. IN, that Siamese cat figurine on the curio behind you? I used to have one almost exactly like it, from what I can tell. (This is like playing Props, which my ex and I used to do - whenever we saw something on screen that one of us owned, we'd yell Prop! and drink. It actually happened a lot.)
