God, apparently both the former kids in the photo are fathers. At least one of them isn't biologically a dad, so I only missed out on one event (acquiring a family) not two (wife then more family).

So the news from the vet is bad, very bad. Confirmed my worst fears. My cat has a huge tumor on her liver, but we brought her home to spend a last few days with us. She's been curled by my side all evening.
