JZ, thanks so much, but thanks to the tax refund, I just went to Home Despot and spent $140 on wrenches, screw-drivers, socket wrenches, a hammer, a rubber mallet, and a toolbox. That'll do me for now, I hope.
I did get the cheapass tools: I am not so much of a handy person that I need the really good stuff.

I don't generally like check-out people getting chatty, not because I object to small talk with strangers (not getting much chance to hang with friends in person makes that little bit of friendly contact nice) but because all too often I'm behind someone who thinks they've made a new best friend and won't move their ass out of my way once they've paid for their stuff.
On the flip side, at the one place I really would like to chat a bit—my local comic shop where the clerk is someone I've been friends with for over a decade—I'm invariably talked over by some other customer gifted with the social graces of Sheldon Cooper.

I think there is some discussion of "The Fades" in the internat'l thread. Suffice it to say TF is one fucked up show. I'm serious. It is DARK. Then the dark gets DARK. It is darker than "Being Human."
Oh, and I liked it.
