This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm sorry about your coworker leaving, ita !. Competent and personable people in the workplace are a treasure.

Everyone at my level is clear that there's no one who can replace him in terms of programming ability, architectural vision, and people skills. Man, the pushback I got from my primary business team when I tried to engineer a team with a different developer--and I had to make all sorts of promises to new!developer based on my reputation because he just lacked the imagination to see the solution himself--I don't want to be back with that.

Ugh. I wish I could be there for his birthday lunch. But my insomnia doesn't fuck around. I can't drive right now. And it would look super sketchy if I came in late just in time for 90 minutes of lunch. Although I will consider that.

I will make his going away celebrations if I have to drag my half-dead semi-corpse over broken glass.

Because books.

I can still watch Glee with partial attention for the music, and once in a while for a funny or touching line (I did get a little weepy last night, and last week, at different moments), but I think overall Ryan Murphy is way better suited to something like Nip/Tuck or American Horror Story than he is to Glee. He can't do a message or a moral without tripping over his own anvils, and the cast is way too big to give most of the characters the kind of attention they deserve.

I will make his going away celebrations if I have to drag my half-dead semi-corpse over broken glass.

I hope it doesn't come to *that*. Sorry you're losing a great work buddy. Those are priceless.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I got 7 out of 10 correct. I probably could have gotten 9, but I over-thought 2.

Santorum or Megadeth.

I got 8 of 10. Partially because I had heard some of the Santorum quotes. (I'm not a fan of Megadeth.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Me either and they sound like loons based on some of those quotes.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I got 60%, as I haven't listened to Megadeth and do my best not to listen to Santorum.

Happy birthday, Laura!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

8 out of 10, but I'd also just recently read articles highlighting the crazy residing deep within them, so I actually recognized a lot of the quotes. The LOTR quote totally fooled me, though.
