Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Percy gets in the kitchen cabinet above the refrigerator. And closes the door behind himself. Leo watched him do it a few times and now he does it too. I just don't put anything in that cabinet. I can't reach it anyway. It might as well be theirs!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The other day, I turned around just in time to see Dita walking across the stove.

It's not just Dita! If I had one wish from a genie, it might be that my cats should choose to stay off the kitchen counters and the stove. I even bought disposable cleaning/sanitizing cloths because I can't deal with a total scrubbing of the counters twice a day.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Damn it, I just realized why I had insomnia last night after doing so well for days. It was the caffeine in stupid Midol. It normally doesn't affect me that bad, but since I went cold turkey, my body must have adjusted already. Hope I don't have to withdraw again.

At least I realized it tonight when I was reaching for the bottle. Guess I need to round up some straight Advil or Tylenol for tonight.

Swouncing

Thanks for representing, Vortex, sarameg, lisah, Sparky and JenP.

Adding my echo along with everybody else's. I'm grateful to know that in some way, my wish to be there for my friend-from-afar was granted as-much-as-possible by several other friends-from-afar. Thank you.

ChiKat, I'm sorry for your loss.

Because books.

Teppy, I'll be eating homemade paczkis today! Very exciting. My parents' friend makes them every year, and I hear they're insanely delicious.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

New development: The person who signed me up for the conservative emails is apparently Jacqueline [My Last Name]. I really thought it was all Jimmie! Dag.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I don't know if anyone here can help with this question, but here goes. I have a friend from uni, just starting out in her career, who's been offered a job in the Hong Kong office of a US law firm, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe (based in SF). I was wondering if any legalistas knew anything about this firm, especially as an employer. Does it look after its staff? How is it on work/life balance? Any help would be much appreciated.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Nilly sighting!

I neglected to feed myself again this morning. I must get some breakfast bars to just keep at work. I guess I should take a break and go get something.
