Happy birthday, Jon B!
And Nilly! Nilly, you'll be happy to know that mention of the PiBaby brings immediately to mind a very clear picture of his delightful smile. Such a blessing.
Really must have sit down time every night. So sit down dinners and homework review every night is the new goal.
Agreed, I always regret it when I let homework/check-in slide. Right now BOTH my kids are working on reports, Isaac on Jackie Robinson and Franny on Ruby Bridges. Third grade report is fine, but first grade? I mean it's fine, he's up for it, they've broken the assignment down into reasonable pieces, but I'm just surprised at how high the bar has been raised.
Speaking of reports? I should go grade. sigh.
I woke up with a cold. Not even a very bad cold; two years ago I would have scoffed at it and gone to work. Now though, I think I am home for the day.
if mac has any reports this year, they have been done in class. He too needed some easy brain months, but his education is definately not up to par. I know the level of stuff in Texas is not going to be where I want.
I realize I'm sort of inconsistent about homework. I think there's too much busy work sent home that both kids and parents find burdensome, but since I think Franny gets a lot more value from the longer projects I am happy to spend more time on those.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Jon!
About to head for the airport to go home. Con was fun.
I KNEW there was something I was supposed to say at Jon's yesterday! Happy birthday! (I popped by Jon's party with Tom Scola (!!!) on my way to my parents'. Saw the baby! Good times.)
I am exhausted! So many items this weekend, and I have failed in getting a haircut and now my haircutter is on vacation this week, so either I have to wait until next weekend, or ask her to come in on a day off, which she said she would do, but I think would call for a giant tip, right? Ugh.
But anyway, had delicious brunch with Scola yesterday, which included a hilarious couple sitting next to us -- the girl had on tights and a shirt. TIGHTS ARE NOT PANTS. I cannot BELIEVE we are still dealing with this issue.
AGREED! I am considering going to vista prints and getting business cards that say CONSIDER PANTS. Tights are not pants. The world is not your gynecologist.
I have noticed a lot of women (not teenage girls!) who are wearing leggings as pants. I mean, I'm happy for you that you are proud enough to show off your ass to everyone like that, but...I feel like we need a ruling. Leggings are not pants. Jeggings I am skeptical on. I feel like I need a flowchart: 1) Does it have spandex or lycra in it? If YES, 2) Does it have pockets? If NO, it is probably not pants.

Mini-F2F! How fun! Did you smish the Average White Baby?
