Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a fair amount of socializing to do this weekend, and some quality family time, in addition to the lying around I would like to do and the house stuff I need to do, so I'm glad I have Monday off! Oh, and Job One when I get home is working on the DVR -- I hope I haven't lost anything I'll regret yet!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I just have a two day weekend (booooo). I don't know if we are babysitting tomorrow. If not, I'm going to karate.

I think I'm feeling ill, cause I want to do some deep cleaning this weekend. Not normally something I crave to do.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Consuela, such a sweet, soulful face!

And the issue with the boss is not that she's opening the messages and ignoring them. It's that she's ignoring their existence. So, thanks for the suggestion, but getting a receipt wouldn't do it.

I've learned to just walk down and tell her I've sent her something. If she's there. If she's free.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I have four day weekend and am taking Wednesday, too. Parades dominate the weekend, as you might guess.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Haircut, movie, nothing else of note.

The coworker with the barbed barbs accused me of being drunk or high, because I recall discussing a feature that didn't make it into production. This is a problem, because it's a bit of a security hole, and I suspect it's going to go straight to the CIO from the security officer, and *then* land in my boss's lap. So I need to get him warned pro-actively.

Thing is, I *clearly* recommend putting in safety controls into this particular feature. But they're not there, and no one else can remember them. It's a peculiar position of weakness from which to work.

I explained to my co-worker that he understands neither marijuana nor rum, if he thinks they'd explain my conviction this already happened.

He came back later to my desk to give me two examples of him being similarly confused. He's really quite sweet for someone with whom I'm in constant battle.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Consuela, such a sweet, soulful face!

Doesn't she look a little worried? That's her perpetual expression. Despite being a GSD, a hardass she is not. She is however very sweet and she really likes people. Also she loves the bookstore around the corner, where they give her treats every time we come in. (Which makes me feel a little guilty about having a Kindle, let me tell you.)

As for my weekend, I'm not sure. Tomorrow I go sit with my mother, and tomorrow night I see a play, and the rest of the weekend will be fixing my bathroom sink and doing other stuff around the house, and finalizing my plans for Spain.

I'm trying to decide if I have the energy to go see The Sting at the Paramount tonight.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

2 day weekend for me and mac. tomorrow might be rainy, so taxes and maybe TiVO or movie (still have not watched Moneyball). Sunday church and hopefully some cleaning and cooking. I should do some grocery shopping so that I can cook though.

hmm, maybe I need to clean the kitchen tonight so that I will actually cook. It is such a cluttered mess that the idea of cooking disappears as soon as I walk in there.

All I want to do is be on the computer once I get home. WAH!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Avon did something cute last night. We call him "part-time lover" because during the daytime, he eschews all attempts at affection, only to wait until the middle of the night to snuggle between us in bed. We have a friend staying on our pullout couch, the first time since we got Avon. This friend's boyfriend prohibits their cat from sleeping with them, to our friend's dismay. Well, even though Avon wanted no affection or attention when the friend arrived, as soon as it was bedtime, Avon spent all night in our friend's arms.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Aww, cutie-pie Avon.

This weekend I am skating both days, working a bit on Saturday. A quick movie on Saturday night--not leaving the pup alone too long. Sunday, we have puppy socialization/early training class. It's with a very woo-woo New Age-y trainer, but the price was right and it's a room full of puppies, so how can it not be fun?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's an adorable picture. She's got a great worried dog face.

The Schwans man gave Seabiscuit a treat, even though I didn't buy anything from him this week.

I need to clean the kitchen, too, because I cleaned out the fridge today at lunch, yuck. We don't usually do too badly, but there were a few unpleasant surprises this time. And I also could do with a bath after that and weeding.

But I finished the SSA stuff, and went through both in-trays, got a lot of piddly stuff done. I guess I should tackle the big catch-up stuff again. It's very unrewarding, but I hope I'll get through it soon enough and then it'll be much easier to maintain.

I got a little weepy looking at the progress that the projects funded by the paper cranes for Japan have made. The one year anniversary of the disaster will come right when I get back from the casita, so that'll be an interesting juxtaposition from vacation to non-vacation.
