Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh, that's hard le n. I like Ginger's solution.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Good luck with the letter, Le N.

Hey, it's Friday! What are people doing this weekend? How many people get three days?

I'll be running a few errands, but mostly housebound as I get the new cat settled in. Maybe I can get some more unpacking done.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Three days, whoot!

Today I am being ineffective, apparently.

But tomorrow we're going to a house concert, one of Dave's buddies is playing in the neighborhood before he heads out on tour.

And it's possible I might be spending all three days trying to make demi-glace. Gulp.

The SO's birthday is at the end of next month, and I want to make a fancy dinner for him, but I want to try the demi-glace well in advance so that I can fail beforehand.

But actually it occurs to me that I can't do both, because the house concert falls right in the middle of when I'd be cooking. Hm.

Anyway, the boy and the dog are going camping and I am probably just going to loll around the house.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I cannot shake the tired today, which is weird since I slept.

I went out to do some weeding to see if a little exertion would help, but it didn't. I just want to go back to bed.

Anyway. I thought you all should know that I input the task, "Weed" into Astrid, but I probably should have phrased it differently, because now Astrid periodically pipes up, "It's time for Weed!" cheerily. Which might be awkward if noticed in certain educational environments.

The weed in question is, in fact, horehound, and while it smells nice and is actually ingestable, that's not really the same vibe I'm going for.

Because books.

Astrid periodically pipes up, "It's time for Weed!" cheerily.

Oh god, I love this. Heh.

Our wings are not tired.

My parents and sister are visiting, soon. They wanted to know if they should come over the weekend before my birthday, or the weekend after. Since my mother always gives up desserts of any kind for Lent I suggested she might want to come the weekend before or risk us eating cake in front of her.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

now Astrid periodically pipes up, "It's time for Weed!"

Hey Liese, I think I might know why you feel so tired...

Just a regular 2-day weekend for me. Hoping to get in a decent walk or two, and then tomorrow night we're going to see a movie about a friend's band. I suspect we are not nearly cool enough for this event. Or for the "Multiperson Hipster Yard Sale" I just found on Craigslist, featuring the castoff items of employees from a couple of local hipster coffeeshops, but I am kind of curious about it anyway.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm going to this tonight: [link] The Bean is actually really fascinating on a regular day, so this should be pretty cool.

Weekend is for cleaning, and figuring out if the total rearrangement of my apartment I am toying with is remotely possible. Or advisable.

information libertarian

I have today off (unpaid) but work Monday; the kids have a 4-day weekend. I have been That Mom today and basically let the kids watch Phineas & Ferb all day long. We did go out and buy Dillo new sneakers, and I've done 4 loads of laundry, dishes, and vacuumed the stairs.

This weekend we might go see The Secret World of Arietty, and we will certainly pick up Girl Scout cookies and start delivering them.

Hey Liese, I think I might know why you feel so tired...

I also have an inordinate interest in snacks...
