A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

My stepson lives in Bethlehem, Jesse!

I, too, want to go to bed, but I suspect it is because of the VDay dinner we just had (I refuse to go out on Vday and get gouged) and because of the cold, dank weather.

I had somekind of martini with spiced pear vodka, absinthe, a fancy sounding pear cognac and cranberry and lemon, which was interesting.

Fried tortones with chimichurri, pork belly, soft like beurre, chicken thighs roasted with chorizo and stuffed with fig, chickpea frites, duck gizzards and a apple-walnut crostini with homemade cinnamon ice cream and GOOD decaf with Bailey's to finish.

And they have happy hour, and all of our faves are half off, from 11 am to 6, so this fab repast was $60 with tip. GENIUS.

I am in my robe now. Must. Stay. Awake.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sort of relatedly, I was crossing a big street the other day, and a car stopped at their green light and waved me across. Which would have been fine, if there hadn't been two other lanes of traffic with cars coming at me! I just kept waving back and not walking. Eventually the light changed.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We have the four way stop issue here of, okay, the rule is the left, unless there's no one else there, in which case it's who rolls up first. And then everyone believes something vastly different about who rolled up first, and by the time they get it worked out, then there's enough people where it should be lefts, but by then the people who rolled up in the middle are irritated and go anyway, plus there's the whole thing of left-turners who rolled up afterwards but should go by the lefts thing and anyway JUST GO GO ALREADY FUCK OKAY FINE IM GOING IF NO ONE ELSE WILL!

That airport is crazy-teeny! It was really cute -- the town -- when I picked M up at Xmanakkuh.

Sounds delicious, Erin!

Seriously, why do people think it's okay to sit at a stop sign until they feel motivated? Or stop when they don't even have a sign and wave people through? *I* get to be the irritated one there.

Hahah! That's SO Seattle. Every time I try to jaywalk here, if there's, say, one car coming one direction and no one the other, I"ll start across the street figuring timing to walk behind the car as it goes past...only the car STOPS and waves me to pass in front of it. Which I feel bad for.

Wait, what? I thought the rule was "who got there first" and then "if you both got there at the same time, the guy to the right" and "if you've been waiting in line, alternate"

(ETA: Wikipedia backs me up at least on the "to the right" [link] )

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

There is a small shopping center a block or so from where I live.It has a Giant, a dry cleaners, a take-out Chinese restaurant, a bank and a few other things. Mostly I use the Giant for things I ran out of, but not for a full grocery run. (Among other things, the seafood department isn't very good)

It was SO GOOD, meara. If anyone stops through KC, I will take you there. It;s our favorite. I'd like to try the fancy Michael Smih restaurant next door -- Extra Virgin is the more cas tapas Smith restaurant -- but it's pricier.

They share a wine cellar so I blanch just looking at the wine list.
