Well, I understand from a colleague that her advisor is encouraging her to write me an apology note to try to repair the relationship.
Meh? Repair the relationship like "I'm sorry I did this and I hope you won't badmouth me all over using my name"? Or like "Please change your mind and retroactively give me a new grade"? The former...sure. I mean, if it's un-sincere it's almost worse, but...but the latter fuck no. Take your lumps.
I think it's all about whether or not it's sincere. Sincere regret I think always deserves to be known--it doesn't always deserve any change in behaviour, though.
meara,
the grade will NEVER be changed. That would take an act of Hera. Hera doesn't work here.
I Think not changing the grade is the right call. But then why is she writing you? Just to say sorry? I just dont see the point. (okay, if I were her, I would be desperate to apologize but if she's not sincere, what's the point??)
meara, sounds pretty good! I hope this turns out to be a better situation for you.
ita ! - that link goes to a page with a number of articles, but about 1/3 of the way down is the video of THard and McG getting shot in the butt with paintball. Which you've seen, no?
ita, I had to scroll down a bit, but I'm guessing the relevant post has to do with Tom Hardy's posterior and paintball.
The video just makes me shake my head and say, "boys are weird".
My naive little sister. Does she really think she'd see his ass before me? Does she think I can't marshal help to get an answer ahead of her coyness? Silly goose.
The video just makes me shake my head and say, "boys are weird".
Well, you know, shocknives. So I don't associate it with boys.
But then why is she writing you? Just to say sorry? I just dont see the point.
Wouldn't you want to say sorry? Or are you sure she's not actually sorry?
Which you've seen, no?
It's always worth seeing Tom Hardy ass again, though.
Well, I understand from a colleague that her advisor is encouraging her to write me an apology note to try to repair the relationship.
What's the point? I mean, does it matter if you repair the relationship? Will she take other classes with you in the future, or use you for a reference?
I mean, sure, if she now understands why plagiarism is wrong and honestly wants to apologize for wasting your time and energy with her bullshit? That's great, but she's the one who benefits from the apology, not you. And you're under no obligation to forgive her, even if she is sincere.
