What? She killed 'em with mathematics. What else could it have been?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I also developed a girl crush on Sue Perkins who seemed pretty clearly designed to make ita ! de la O a raging lesbian.

Not that I have a good baseline to work from, but I think that's what she does. I've never seen her interviewed where I haven't left with a little crush.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Judi and my mother have met, because sis was pals with Fionnuala (Nu), Judi's daughter. Those were weird times. She was famous, but English TV famous, not FAMOUS like that Bonham Carter chick a year ahead of me.

My nail just broke off, and typing is becoming inaccurate. Perhaps it's naptime. Mmm,

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh G-d. Maria, you and your family are in my thoughts. I'm so sorry.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Judi Dench was on Graham Norton last week, talking about a movie she'd made with Dev Patel, and if memory serves, Dame Maggie. Judi cracked my shit up, whilst reminding me totally of my own mother, which I never would have guessed. I'd loved to have seen them together.

Wacky thing I learned about Dame Dench the other day: She originated the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret on the London Stage in 1968.

(Originated in London, that is, not in NYC where it first ran in '66.)

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Maria, just in case you didn't see this in Bitches, I'm there, awake, and will be checking it from time to time. I am so very sorry for you loss.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Wow. That's kinda awesome.

hip deep in pie

In entirely trivial news, I realized that I am one degree from Martin Freeman, and two from the Cumberbatch. (I went to drama school with a guy who was in Nightwatching with Freeman.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

She originated the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret on the London Stage in 1968.

The BBC has rehearsal footage from that show - it is indeed awesome.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Snow day! You know what's better than an excellent dinner? An excellent dinner where you can sleep in the next day!
