All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Maria. I'm so very sorry. Much love and peace to you.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Maria, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thank you all so much.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I said it in the other thread, but we love you and are thinking about you. Do whatever you need to right now, or don't do anything at all. You don't need to respond to us, or you can be on here as much as you want. We're just here for you.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Everything Liese just said.

We love you, sweetie, and you are in our thoughts.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Also, so there's another conversation going here in case you want to think about something else...

I did put on my makeup again AND a dress and the pretty glass necklace the SO gave me. Well, and my strappy Doc Martens boots, because hey, a girl has her limits, plus it was going to snow. And we went out to our local steakhouse and had filet mignon and lentil stew and coconut shrimp and creme brulee. It was a lovely pre-Valentines dinner.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

NOM. (Well, except possibly for the lentil stew. Why waste the space when there's coconut shrimp and creme brulee to be had?)

Me, I just caught up with Downton Abbey, and I'm just laughing at it. It's become so frelling absurd, it's just too much.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, it came with the meal. It was pretty delicious for lentil stew, though. But not vegetarian. It was lentils with ham. And then steak wrapped in bacon. It was a pretty good night for insidious pork products of all kinds. (There were only berries in the creme brulee.)

I'm spoiled for Downton Abbey and it is absurd, but I still enjoy it. It's its own little melodrama.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Good on you, Liese. Sometimes the fun Docs and a bit of makeup are great medicine.

Why do car dealers hand you plates, at least in LA? Was that typical? I mean, they had them, and they handheld me through everything, but then he stuck that paper to the windshield and handed me the plates and left me to DO IT MYSELF. Huh.

I'm still happy with the purchase, even with the full amount come due. Drives good. Well, even. I still have issues remembering to lock the doors, and that it's my right hand that operates the window, but I do seem to be getting pretty good with the sunroof, so I'm not entirely unable to learn.
