I have so many people *I* work with whose titles/roles I don't know. The global address book doesn't help
WORD. What's worse is that here, about 20%+ of the staff change job positions every year. So my contact in Seattle on X project might be moving to Alaska next month, and replaced by someone from Puerto Rico who doesn't know anything about the project. This happens all the time.
What's worse is that they're completely inconsistent with updating the global address book. I can't search on division or team or even office location (if I know it), and it might be months after someone leaves a slot before they update their information with the new phone number.
As a result, I'm disproportionately pleased when people stick around for more than a couple of years.
Hi people!
I am weirdly upset about Whitney Houston, but was offline with friends, so I have to tell you people that now. Sad.
Poking head for just a second because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Connie neil'a birthday.
Happy birthday, Connie! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
aw, boo! Dude is probably being adopted along with a friend by someone else.
I mean Yay for Dude and friend, but boo for me and Dita
Aw, that's too bad for you guys. But you'll find one!
Today went so pear-shaped, I don't even know. I'm just going to be a slug over here, please.
Happy birthday, Connie!
I don't want to go to work tomorrow. Stupid work.

My current company the address books are usually close if not utterly up to date...but the worst thing is if someone leaves, and you email them, not only do you not get a bounce back reply, I don't think anyone checks the old boxes!! Very frustrating when most people work at home and you don't notice they've left
Happy Birthday Connie!
I suppose this belongs in the Reality thread, but I really love "Who do You Think You Are?" even though it is basically 40 minutes of celebrities using Ancestry.com.
