Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The American President has been running on cable lately and after rewatching I note:

a) I wish Annette Bening had done more comedies (more movies for that matter. Damn you, Warren Beatty);

b) That scene where the POTUS tries to order flowers ("Dogwood is both a tree and a flour, sir") for her is really funny and sort of like the scene in Bull Durham where they have the meeting on the mound to discuss wedding presents;

c) Anne Deavere-Smith is like eight feet taller than Michael J. Fox;

d) Awww, Michael J. Fox all healthy and stuff;

e) That Sorkin guy could write a bit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy birthday, Suzi.

I tried, but there's no way I can make it into the office today. I am all sorts of wrung out. This is a big week--I'd hoped to be onsite every day. But I can still make it work.

Happy birthday to Lisa's dad and Carole King.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm working in the office today, just so I could dress up. It made sense in my head but now that I'm here, I'm thinking - I could have spent the day working/slounging at home. Ah, well.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Happy birthday!

Terry Bradshaw needs to stop threatening that NutriSystem will make people look like him.
