The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hey, Lee, you around? I need help from someone with legal database access.

Yep--email me

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of my co-workers has a picture of one of these as his wallpaper. Which seems reasonable, but it's his (only one in the US right now, apparently, so I've totally IDed him). I'm trying to convince him it's weird to have a picture of what's in the parking lot downstairs as your wallpaper, and I've just about managed to rally everyone against him. I had the collateral effect of insinuating to the newly married co-worker that it was icky (in a boys have cooties way) to have her wedding picture up, but I think she agrees with me, kinda. She's the unmarriedest newlywed ever.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I corrected an io9 article! I feel knowledgeable.

What's your posting ID?

There's a diet-cured-cancer poster there, and I just want to shake my fists in her face. Staying away from the provocation.

Going home. Just presented to my boss for 90 minutes, standing up and my back is achey. 10 years ago, I couldn't stand up for more than ten. I am mos def ahead of the game, but why can't I be perfectly healthy?

I just sent you it, but gmail is being weird, so let me know if you don't get it.

Charlie Jane and I are Facebook friends. I also recommended The Emperor of All Maladies, which I was surprised to hear she hadn't even heard of.

The original article quoted someone as saying that Avastin had been "recalled," which isn't correct. I mean, I assume the doctor meant that its breast cancer approval was revoked...but that's not what "recalled" means.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Phew! Part three of the interview went really well -- turns out I sort of worked with the woman a little in New York. And she's in LA now! Small world.

Go Jesse, rock that interview!

Me, I convinced someone today that I was useful. Go me. Now, if only they can get their act together.

It's a real shame when my (young, creative, go-getter) boss is considering quitting because he feels like he can't get anything done. It's just like that here, and he is in fact moving stuff along a lot faster than other people have.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So what do people think of the black contact thing? It used to bug me, but I think it's an awesome look for Yolandi in the band Die Antwoord
