I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

I am a trained, but not practicing librarian. AND I work for gov't. I should understand this kind of screw up.

My mom is completely undone by falling last week. She's a bundle of nerves and her memory is shot. I made the mistake of telling her last weekend that my nextdoor neighbor was gone to Florida, and somehow, in her head, this became ALL my neighbors were away and I was the only person left on my street. She called me every night very worried about me, and no matter how I tried, I couldn't get her to grasp that I wasn't all alone. Thankfully, my neighbors are home (I was going to tell her they came home anyway.) but she's still worried, and calling everyday.

The vinca lived outside, I was trying to see if I could overwinter it. Apparently not.

The jasmine plant is still alive, but the cats would have to really get creative to get into it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

P.S. Jessica totally needs to take this class.

Meep! Chickens!

Alas, my backyard has no grass, so my city-chicken fantasies will have to wait until we move.

Tom, the photography class looks great, and you should absolutely not feel guilty about going. You, of all people, deserve a day off.

Because books.

My mom is completely undone by falling last week.

Oh, Sue, that's hard.

Puppy is sweet looking, msbelle. Meant to say that earlier. Should be an interesting experience, and hopefully, a good one!

I know many of us are an age such that our parents (much like our pets, damnit) are starting to decline, but damnit. They need to not do that!

Can I just say how much I am enjoying "Mark Watches Buffy"? I mean, not even so much for his actual reactions or writeups, but just as a reminder of how much I loved the show? Sniff.

Oh, Sue, that's hard.

Yeah, the good news is that the Dr. is finally looking at her memory issues, but I think she's got a lot of untreated anxiety that might be part of it too.

Tom, that class looks terrific!

I'm sorry, Sue. Maybe you mom is feeling vulnerable and projecting?

I may be taking voice classes. I did a voice over on an eLearning module for my company and didn't like my voice. Since I want to do more of them, I figured I should work on that. I met with the instructor today, and well have a couple of classes to see how we work together before I sign up for a semester.

That sounds kinda neat, Calli! I'm always thrown by how I sound so different on tape/voicemail than I do in my head. I think I just need to listen to my sister more, apparently we sound just alike (but not in my HEAD!!)

Random thing I just remembered that made me feel old: Watching Glee on Wednesday, my roommate (who is six years younger than me) didn't know any of the Michael Jackson songs. Like, I remember staying up and being super excited when the "Black or White" video came out (after the Simpsons, I believe?). Or "Scream"--and she didn't even recognize most of the songs, much less get the video references! I felt ancient. Conveniently I have a DVD of MJ's #1 hits, so I may force her to watch it (because most of the Glee versions were terrible)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I really just wanted him to die, but I felt guilty about it. I haven't missed him for a moment.

I'm glad you said this. I support your decision to stay away, Tom.

Let's see: cats eating wet food. I've had this issue. Supposedly you can get their appetite going by putting some on their nose. Hand feeding works for me, but may start bad habits.

This weekend I'm running a half marathon (surf city) and I'm freaking out about chest & back pain. I get frequent side stitches, even when I'm walking or sitting or sleeping. I think it's cancer. Or pleurisy. Or pleurisy-cancer. But going out for steaks tonight to feed up anyway.
