I'm currently pausing in my sushi eating to let my taste buds recover from whatever that is so I can taste the rest of my dinner.

I imagine when the chef made your sushi, he was thinking, "I say we nuke the tongue from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

I think I might be developing a shrimp allergy - this is the second time I've noticed my mouth itching after eating them. BOO HISS DO NOT WANT.

And just when I was close to perfecting my shrimp taco recipe! (Tonight's new trick, deglazing the frying pan with tequila, then tossing the shrimp in the pan sauce. SERIOUS NOMS.)

Hmph, I can't find it, msbelle. But I'm a little braindead.

That reminds me, they've just hauled up seven giant crustaceans (foot-long amphipods) off New Zealand. [link]

Boo, shrimp allergy!

Must be the night for hot food, because my pork carnitas tonight were pretty spicy. Mostly because I forgot the SO had made this batch of salsa hotter for our guest, and I added my adobo as a rub. Anyway. Hot. But very tasty.

I pulled the trigger on the casita, yay vacation! And not a craptacular non-break like our furlough turned out to be. (This is actually because of that; we met with the sponsoring church during the worst part of that trip. We didn't ask for this, but apparently he went back and said, dudes, let's send them on vacation.)

My dinner is not hot and spicy, it is chicken and potatoes and broccoli, not much in the way of seasoning added. But nom.

The snow is a-falling. School district just called tomorrow as a snow day.
