Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

See, they have savings accounts with no fees for people with a large minimum balance, so if you have a lot of money saved, you get to keep it, but if you don't have much money, they take it away.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Well, how else will they punish people for being poor?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That depends on whether you count clonal colonies.

Clones don't count! That way lies madness.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Clones don't count! That way lies madness.

It's a single connected biomass, the root system just keeps sending up different stems. How would you draw the line between this and an individual plant?

There are other clonal colonies where the resulting clones are no longer connected, of course. (There's a ring of creosote bushes in the Mojave desert that's about 12,000 years old. I mention that just because I like the word creosote.)

Y'all, the Washington State senate just passed gay marriage. 28-21. Reading the quotes of what people said (several Republicans voted for it. One Democrat mentioned that he's the son of a gay man!). The House is pretty much guaranteed. And while it'll probably end up going to the people for a vote...it still makes me so happy and moved, I'm crying.

With a protractor.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw. Yay, Washington State!

I guess you better just get married then, huh? Don't waste it!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

How would you draw the line between this and an individual plant?

With an axe.
