Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Thrive to spite them

By the way , if people like adorable cartoon robots, Michaels has a bunch of stuff in the dollar kids impulse section, plus there's some robot valentine stuff (which I'm waiting to go on clearance).

Because books.

Happy birthday, Anne!

I guess that could be self-tanner, le_n? I think if it was something ... other, there probably would have been more of it?

Now I've squicked myself.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Self-tanner makes more sense than some other things I could imagine.

Everyone cross your fingers for me: thanks to a friend, I've got a job lead at Isilon. C'mon giant tech company, I know you need editors!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Fingers crossed, Jilli. You need a break and Giant Tech Company needs a housegoth!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Couldn't she have had make-up on her legs and be sweating a lot?

Dude, some days. I dunno.

I'm in an online discussion about street harrassment, with this conservative Republican attorney who is shocked! shocked! that women get harrassed in public so much, and why hasn't anyone done anything about it? Why isn't it called out in popular culture?

And he seems to think that if we can just isolate and shame "the pervs", that everything will be all better. As if there's a bright and definable line separating the pervs from the rest of this culture. As if popular culture, with the way it sexualizes every woman between 10 and 40, isn't in part responsible for the pervs.

I have been informed that the hiring manager knows who I am, remembers me from around Microsoft, AND has a copy of my book in his office. Please oh please oh please.

IO (shallow, but good)N, Pete went to the local cupcake place and brought me back two (TWO!) GF cupcakes, chocolate and chocolate salted caramel. I had half of each, and they are DELICIOUS.
