The only new furniture I've ever bought is bookcases and office furniture. As far as I know, the only new furniture my mother ever bought was couches. (Antique couches do not meet modern standards of comfort.) I can't pretend to be normal on the subject; as a teenager, I spent my allowance on buying antique furniture and refinishing it.

I am waiting on a crapload of my grandmother's furniture to be delivered to us. I am not permitted to even think about furniture until we've got that in the house. Or should I say, small apartment.

Okay, I know I don't have anyone to blame but myself, but I thought I'd find out. So I changed the channel to Why Did I Get Married? and although there's no Madea it's intensely irritating, and it endorses some relationship attitudes that drive me up the wall. Batshit.

Has anyone been involved in buying a mobility scooter? A friend's mother has, at age 95, conceded that walking is just too painful, and my friend is trying to figure out how to start shopping.

Ginger, let me ask my mom--dad has one that worked pretty well.

My couch is 10 years old and looks it, but it is sooo comfortable, I can't imagine getting rid of it. However, seeing how I plunk down in this spot and not move all evening, maybe it is too comfortable.

It's kinda snowing outside. Big winds, plus...not really sleet, too windy for that. It won't stick, I expect.
