Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Where does he lay out those criteria, Connie? I don't see it in the introduction post.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity

It is a commonplace, but I'm not sure it is a true commonplace. There is a hell of lot of malice in the world, much of it held by people who are also stupid. Or maybe it is a matter that sufficiently advanced stupidity is indistinguishable from malice.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You know, my unpacking might be going better if I weren't okay with living in disarray.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You know, my unpacking might be going better if I weren't okay with living in disarray.

Me too. Or i might just be more stressed, hard to say. I've only lived in this house for not quite 5 years, i'm sure I'll finish unpacking eventually.

BTW, I can probably abandon my disarray and not-yet-put-together furniture to help assemble some of yours at some point.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Wow, that was a crazy tennis match.

It really was. Best tennis we're likely to see this year.

One interesting piece of trivia they mentioned: the semi between Nadal and Federer is the first match ever where both players have won at least ten Grand Slam titles. (Nadal's on ten, Federer sixteen.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My neighbor's band was playing "Message in a Bottle" for a few hours. Now they seem to be trying to work out some chord sequence, but I don't recognize it -- they keep playing about three measures of something, then stopping, then playing it again with something slightly changed, and so on.
