FWIW, I have been through car transactions recently (and helped friends go through them) and we all did all the negotiating via email through the dealership.

My current car is 12. I'm hoping to get a few more years out of it, since I don't want to deal with car buying yet. (It has just over 96,000 miles on it, and its a Corolla, which have been good cars for me.)

I am on my 2nd car of my life and am hoping this one lasts at least until Bob sells his place in chicago. (It's going on the market again this fall probably...if anyone knows anyone who is looking to buy an awesome condo in Chicago!)
