Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Because books.

And he does it a lot, makes it up as he goes along and it's pretty fucking random and where the fuck is that coming from?!

Sara does this, too. Every once in a while when she's really in her head, drawing or even playing with her Polly Pockets, I'll hear singing, and it's sort of warbly and stream-of-consciousness. So funny.

I think the thing that amazes us the most is that D has a good singing voice!

Googling plane fares, looks like I could sell extra days because right now, Friday-Monday are cheaper than Friday to Saturday, and that's just from BWI. I could do Dulles for maybe $50 less but I'd hate to because the drive back is killer, and really? The drive is equivalent to the one stop in Philly or wherever. And I could save the company the equivalent on parking, cause I could have one of my friends shuttle me. And even if I didn't, BWI parking would still be cheaper.

I'll be on the hook (fairly sure) for lodging Saturday and Sunday, but I would totally switch to a pensione rather than a swank hotel if the differential is significant.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey, my sister is going to Spain too! She just got a paper accepted in Barcelona. My life is so boring in comparison.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't think your company cares about $50, sara.

Barcelona is AWESOME. I love that city.

I really need to do some research on Madrid. I don't really know much about it.

Hell, a cab would be cheaper than parking, come to think of it.

Speaking of sale shopping, I got sucked into the Lord & Taylor one-day cashmere sale the other day and then also free shipping over $100, so I ordered a cashmere sweater AND rain boots and still had to add a Jonathan Adler mug to make the free shipping. I hope any of it is good.

Jesse, I figure. But in case they balk at basically giving me 4-5 days to play tourist (ooh, tuesday is same as monday!) I'm lining up arguments.

I don't have a lot of vacation to spare this year, and lots of things coming up that need vacation. But if I run up my hours in the next 3 months, I can spare some days of short or no hours.

Plus I'll be working 60+ hours while there anyway.

Oh, found a transcription of D's singing, in real time at the time, from my brother: "3,6,9,12,15,18..I looked out a window...and to my surprise.....I saw some stars...they slowly started falling.....I tried to make wishes....I wished for a million dollars...wished some never came true...because I would be purple and yellow....and 30 feet tall..."

Because books.

You should definitely take as many days as you can, sara. It's Spain!

I ordered a cashmere sweater AND rain boots and still had to add a Jonathan Adler mug to make the free shipping.

I've done this so many times. I wound up with a shirt I don't LOVE love just because it was insanely cheap and the only way to get the free shipping.

I'm consulting Dr. Google about my dad's dizzy spells. So far I've got low blood pressure or vertigo, because it's positional (i.e. if he stands too suddenly, or leans down), but he's also fallen two twice in the past month, which is troubling.

The status is NOT quo.

Oh, Barcelona. LOVE.
