Heh. Coming off my 3 day no-driving-possible spell, I have a vague idea of the way the possibilities and opportunities seem endless AND MUST DO NOW. As soon as I knew it was doable, I was out of the house like a shot. Except I had to rest my eyes in each parking lot, because the eye fatigue would've been there, but add fog? Uhg.
The fatigue thing seems to be gone, but I'm still being fucking careful about not rubbing my eyes, not getting water in that goggle and using the antibiotic drops. The swelling of the lid is almost completely gone. Tear duct is a little stingy, and I still have a teeny bit of a halo around point sources. I should probably see an eye doctor if it doesn't resolve in a week. Fuckme.
Can you take me to Target on Saturday??
Sure! And I owe THE WORLD car karma, so you never have to worry about paying me back. None of you do. Free rides!
But I know what you mean. I've felt like that for 12 years. One of the best things that ever happened to me was when I moved back in with T&G for the second time, before they moved to NY. They had a house "in the country," which meant that they were about a mile outside the town limits, and therefore off the bus lines. But I needed to save money on rent, and they wanted to save money on their mortgage, and we knew we were compatible as roommates, our dogs got along, so we made a deal (which was their idea): I got rides anywhere I wanted to go. No guilt, no having to ask. Rides to and from work, to the store, wherever I wanted. It was part of me helping them out by moving in and them not having to live with someone they didn't know. You would think living out there without a car would have been stressful, but it was the most stress-free time of my carless existence, because I never had to ask for favors. I never felt like I owed anybody anything.
My stomach whatever is gone. I had real food for lunch and dinner and no yuck, so YAY!
but..tonight mac is feeling bad, please no.
I spent almost all day at the hospital. Friend's wife had surgery, collapsed lung that would not stay inflated for a week in the hospital. Everyone very freaked out and no one had ever dealt with surgery before.
Tomorrow I get drug-tested for new job. YAY!
hairpats and bunny ears for ita.
YAY! new car for amyth.
I think to balance out the good job news, my house gave me some bad news, roof leaking in my bedroom last night during the never-ending rain storm. 18 month here with no leaks, now a leak. One drip place, but it dripped a gallon over night.
amyth - that rocks. Now I have to do that!
Uhg on the leak, msbelle. And the stomach bug traveling. I'm glad you were able to help your friends. eta: and jesus, I can actually see what I'm posting and still a stupid typo.
msbelle, I want to make a rain/pours joke but roof issues are not funny,
I just clogged Grace's g-tube. I hate when I do that. But at least I don't panic anymore. I just get extra syringes filled with hot water and I push and pull until the clog dislodges. Damn.
Amyth, yay CAR!
ita, I'm so sorry that everything is overwhelming.
My cat just jumped up on my keyboard and suddenly the desktop is all small. How do I get it back?
I've got a cold, and it's making my ears clogged, which is making me dizzy and nauseated. Can't I get through one semester without being sick?
I feel you, Hil. It's been one damn thing after another since October for me. And I usually only get one or two predictable colds a year. Now I add 2 ear infections, occular migraine and a scratched cornea...meh.
My washer and dryer are in the garage.
The door to the garage is one of the monitored doors for the security system.
Any bets on how long it's going to take me to set it off?
