You're talking to Serenity. And, Early... Serenity is very unhappy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I swear I get colder in jeans than anything else. The skin on my thighs will still be cold to the touch after I've been inside for hours, it seems like.

I guess I've totally given up on dress pants, although I still have some in the closet, I definitely haven't worn more than one pair in the last year.

My office is completely unconventional. Everything from suits and ties (though that's usually only for occasions and that one guy) to shorts year round (that dude even has a shorts-tux!) Women run the gamut from early 80s era polyester gym-teacher outfit (srsly, like the Glee coach, but much worse) to some really blinged out silk-dress-suits types.

Eye has moved from bloody painful to just irritating and stressed. I might be able to drive by tomorrow afternoon. Pretty sure I can't handle the computer. Half this post typed with my eyes closed. Only a few shifted characters.

I can't read with one eye closed. The closed eye tracks, which is not pleasant. To read, I have to have both open, but the injured one blocked from seeing. Annoying!

Art Crawl!!!

I like wearing skirts or dresses and think that my legs were actually colder when I wore trousers on Friday than they were when I wore a long skirt with tights on Thursday.

I clearly should have worn tights under my trousers on Friday.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I was always the only woman in my department, so I dunno what the other women wore. I probably have no office appropriate wear in my size any more.

The SO & his buddy said they were going hiking, but there sure is a lot of posting about stuff on television. Who'd like to take bets that they are, instead, sitting in a bar watching the game?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

In the winter, I wear slacks with bamboo-fabric long johns underneath.

On the GPS thing: there's an elementary school down the block from my house that doesn't show up on any of the GPS maps. Half the time I want to go somewhere, the GPS will start by telling me to drive through the playground. (The other half of the time, it tells me to go the wrong way down a one-way street.)

Not taking that bet.

Hmm, I'm doing research for a story and can't find an answer to this question: how many shells fit in the magazine of a pump-action shotgun?

brillig

Apparently people are becoming much worse drivers since GPS showed up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

how many shells fit in the magazine of a pump-action shotgun?

Depends on the gun, I'm pretty sure. Do you have a specific one in mind?

meara - Jan 22, 2012 11:09:13 am PST #17826 of 30001

I wear a lot more slacks, even though I like skirts, because skirts and dresses so often don't have pockets. I mean, I TRY to buy them with pockets, but often I see one and try it on and like it so much that I think "Well, even though it doesn't have pockets, I"m sure I'll like it anyway"...and then I never wear it because it's too much bother.

Pretty sure it depends on both the gun and the shell/slug actually. Bah.

Remington 870, of which there are too many sub-types. It's hard writing Terminator fic if you're not a weapons geek.

Found it: I had to download the owner's manual. 3 or 4 shells fit in the magazine, depending.
