msbelle, I jumped into Torchwood having never seen an episode of Dr. Who, just knowing what I know from the Buffistas, and had no problem. There are some in-jokes you miss, but not much. It stands alone very well.
Me, too, and it does. Then I stopped watching because it was ALL PAIN ALL THE TIME and it was really upsetting me. Even the prospect of naked John Barrowman didn't draw me back.
I am sitting in a stupor in the living room while my children disassemble the house around me. It's been nonstop action -- a trip to the central library on the train, dinner at Great Harvest and a nice trip to Target and Michaels for Valentine's Day stuff.
So tired now. And vaguely vomitty.
