Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

YAY LEE!

Good job, Matt. Effing people.

I called out sick from work, mostly because I have two calls about jobs and need to prep for them. Possibly a mistake, since if they lead to interviews, that will also need time out of the office, but eh. I actually am feeling a little off...

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, Matt, that's just....precious. Seriously?? *YOU* were the rude one??

So, 1st period starts in 5 minutes and I'm still at home. Yesterday when I left school, I had a flat tire. This is a brand new tire that was purchased in November. I got air in it and got it to the shop. It had leak and they "fixed" it for free.

Got up this morning and guess what greeted me? You guessed it. Tire was flat again. So I took it to the closest gas station and got air in it. Did I mention that it is 6 degrees this morning?

Shop doesn't open for another 30 minutes. I will be there in 35.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh ChiKat, what a PITA.

I'm having a worlds collide moment. An old HS friend on FB just posted about capybaras! This moment is only made collidier by the fact that said acquaintance happens to also be FB friends with another buffista, but no it's not our capybara-loving Aussie. Capybaras are the new black. Who knew?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Capybaras are great! They're like guinea pigs you can put a saddle on and ride!

Oh, Matt, that's just....precious. Seriously?? *YOU* were the rude one??

Yeah. I won't lie and say my tone was warm and friendly, but if you wake me up in the wee hours on a weeknight my definition of courtesy is not confronting you at the end of one of my hockey sticks. I did not raise my voice, use objectionable language, or hurl insults; I just pointed out the hour and asked rambling/impaired guest to keep it down.

information libertarian

I discovered last night in aimless Facebook surfing (because that is what we do while managing homework time) that a PhD student at my work is FB friends with a kid I babysat when he was 8. I think they went to high school together (in a place he moved to later).

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

"Switched At Birth" has had an ongoing joke about capybaras recently -- three of the teenage characters have a band, and they want to make a video, but one of them insists that they need to do some kind of video that will be noticed, not just shots of them playing, and his idea is something that involves a capybara (we never see details of what, exactly, the capybara will be doing in the video.) So they try various jobs and not-really-legal ventures to try to make enough money to be able to rent the capybara.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am hands down in enough pain today to take a sick day, except no sick days in January. Well, not before the 29th. Deployment Sunday, which I have talked my way out of being present for, and deployments next Friday and next Sunday. I really have to work out how to pace myself.

Also, I should have filled my new prescription for anti-emetics and picked them up from the pharmacy. Because I can't find my older pills. But that's nothing like the panic I had when I couldn't find the painkillers this morning. Oyveh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oof, ita !. I hope the day improves somehow.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, ita ! I am so sorry.

Separately, have I said thank you enough to all of you and especially msbelle and Amy and -t and JZ and Juliana for all the help and encouragement and bossiness. I quite literally din't think I could have done this without you, but with you all, I am pretty much ready for the movers, who won't be here for another two hours.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yay ready for movers!
