Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Heh. I wish I could find a recruiter. I'm more and more convinced that my current place of employment is not somewhere I want to be for long. I am not a fan of how they do business.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Ugh, Maria. I know you weren't super-enthused about it, but I'm sad that it's turning out to be all you thought. Which is crappy.

ION, does anyone have Skype and want to hop on it for a new minutes so I can make sure my new Skype addy for my biz works. And also that the computer is working.

I need a schmancy new computer. And a pony and a hot tub.

Also? SARAMEG GO TO SPAIN!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Tom, I love your photos. Also, that house in Yosemite? I want it. If I ever build a house, it'll look like that.

Aw, Lee.

The firefighting died down, but I was still at alert status. And felt futless as a result.

Reading it made me think even more about how I need a new job. I got burned out on fires and am now just treading water. Oy.

Wow, sarameg and Jesse explained my problem to me.

sarameg, you should go to Spain. BECAUSE.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had already realized this job is just supposed to be the stuff I'm less good at, but I forgot about the adrenaline of the summer-ish. Ah well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am wondering what February is going to be like. All my major projects go live this month. I have no idea what I'll be doing. I mean, there'll be operational stuff, but I think I'll be panicked without business interaction and looming issues.

Oh! Wait! We have a server consolidation project and I can try and sneak all sorts of enhancements into it. That will make me crazy again. Apparently I need crazy.

But dear god, please let me have this job forever. Well, with this precise mix of management. From manager to boss to CIO, I'm extremely lucky.

I posted this in Buffistas Biz, but haven't gotten any reads and now I'm all second-thoughty and nervous --

Can anyone check out my very first video for my biz ever, and tell me if I look/sound like a complete idiot? [link]

Punishingly Intricate

ugh my job irritated me this afternoon last thing. In a meeting that was supposed to be easy! Turns out customer didn't really understand the requirements we wrote months ago and reviewed with everybody multiple times! And, of course, I just feel like we could have done a better job. feh.

So I came home and made food and was cranky and watched some Sherlock which made me happy but then Bob just discovered I'd left a burner on. WTF, Brain?! Thank goodness he is here and cleans up stuff right away and saw that. If it was just me it could have easily been on all night.

The food was good though, I think. Red wine risotto with sauteed mixed wild mushrooms (shitakes, black trumpet, and morels) and arugula and pecorino romano cheese. Umami bomb!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OMG THIS IS THE CUTEST COMMERCIAL EVER!

(OK, I've not exactly sober.)

The Bark Side, Dogs Barking Star Wars Imperial March Theme in Volkswagen Super Bowl Ad

Dogs bark The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) from Star Wars in The Bark Side, a Volkswagen ad scheduled to air during Super Bowl XLVI.

Also, note what each dog is wearing. And what the Chewbacca dog sounds like .

I worked most of the day, and then tromped around in the snow to the pharmacy, as I had run out of a medication two days ago, but was traveling. Oops.

But I have assorted teas, there was actually milk in the stores so I can have cocoa later, and I have many foodstuffs, so I am set even if there is more snow tomorrow.

And my roommate isn't home until tomorrow, because her work was closed today and so she decided to extend being away.

I think Sara should go to Spain!

I emailed an old boss today on linkedin to see if his company is hiring, and he called me about 15 minutes later, it was fast! So I'm going to apply for some jobs. But the thought of arranging interviews AND doing my job is...exhausting. I've been ridiculous busy so far this month.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

My boss just wrote me a nice rec for another gig related to work, but advisory work. I have to read/edit/print and bring to her for a signature. It makes me feel like Read-from-the-hall to read nice things about myself.
