Hat trick: I just watched the Bumbly Cumbersnatch vid; what are the sexytimes scenes from?
smonster, I don't know! Wish I did. I'm not familiar with everything he's been in. Because as usual, I fixated on a character, not the actor. Bandersnatch may prove to be the rare exception to that rule, though.
Oh, great. All the drug limitations talk makes me hinky, because 2 of my drugs are controlled subs.
That's insane. And makes me furious.
Hubby's drug case would make an addict or a rotten high school student swoon with avarice. Fortunately, he works with a pain specialist, so he has little problem getting his drugs.
Ok. We got out of the house, made to the last half of ballet and then picked up Em's BFF who is now totally asleep in Em's bed. I am CRACKING UP.
Who are the top executives/directors who made the decision to cut back production of ADD drugs? I say we lock them in a room with Best Friend's kids after a trip to the ice cream parlor and wait a few hours.
I hate insurance companies. hate. can I get a 90 day supply of ADs or anti-anxieties? no. 90 day supply of cholesterol meds? sure thing no problem, $4 generics. Anti-viral I need like 3-5 pills a month of? no way, and the generic is over $90 for 30 pills. Could that be because this is a med that also treats an STD? yes, yes it could. WIll the insurance company accommodate that I need 150% dosage one week a month of the ADs? No, they will not approve an extra 4 pills for a 30 day supply so I can halve them. I think we are going to have to double my dosage, have me cut pills in half for 21 days and then have extra pills each month, EXACTLY WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE WANTING!

The head of the DEA, I guess.
Ahhh, the War on Drugs. Like the War on Terrorism it's a bullshitty way to say, "We're going to be fucking with your shit for random and dubious reasons. You can't do a thing about it. 'Cuz...War. It's bad and we're against it. We're against drugs and terrorism so you will now play an exciting role in Security Theater at the airport while we withhold your medications."
Watching the 3-part documentary on Prohibition really put into sharp focus for me how futile a war on drugs/alcohol is. Prior to Prohibition, drinking really was causing a lot of social ills. Bad business. The only thing at their disposal was Prohibition, which did not really put a dent in consumption and caused all kinds of fucked up crime
Prohibition was such a boon to organized crime.
Speaking of the good old days, I've come to the conclusion that our current gov't is probably about as corrupt as that of the Teapot Dome Scandal. Just outright bought and paid for.
If I got my one magic bullet to kill off something, I'd take out Corporate Personhood with one shot and reel in campaign contributions. It's crazyland in American politics. (Moreso than usual.)
