I really shouldn't feel uncomfortable about talking to Dad about wanting some of Mom's ashes, should I? And yet, I do. I don't know how to have that conversation with him.
I can see it feeling awkward to bring up but I think your dad will totally understand even be very supportive of you.

ita, they had to put a PICC line in for my nephew today. YIKES! Sinking a central line into a 1 lb 14 oz body. I can only shudder. It went ok, though. He's going to get medicated for a slight heart murmur. They said regular IVs wear out on those teeny veins too quickly.

I know what you mean about Real Sex, ita. The first episode I saw was about sex dolls and had a man on it who treated his doll like she was the Perfect Woman and was not to be sullied by sex. I would compare him to Lars of Lars and the Real Girl except this guy was very much aware that his doll was not alive and he felt she was all the more perfect for that.

Was Real Sex that long ago? I was once at dinner when an ex starting telling a story that began, "One night, your daughter and I were watching Real Sex..." to my chagrin. I tried to explain that maybe this wasn't the story we told to my mother and your wife. Certainly not until the second bottle of wine.
