Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bittersweet chocolate, I can do that.

I have nothing to say about Cupcakegate.

I do want to belatedly quote Futurama re: Will Shortz "I think that qualifies as ill, at least from a technical standpoint."

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm so going to celebrate National Bittersweet Chocolate Day later. Right now I'm at Peets because we needed coffee, and I needed to get out of my house and do some work.

And eeps! The kids get out of school early on Tuesdays. I need to pick them up at 2. Oy. Must find a better after care arrangement, although truth be told, it's more for my benefit than theirs. Picking them up right after school works better for them, but it hobbles my work day.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I tried a grapple once, and I thought it was gross.

I tried a grapple once, and I thought it was gross.

Me, to! It thought it was hilarious, so I bought one, but... no.

Thrive to spite them

I saw those in the store once and almost bought them, but they were really expensive.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

My dog is trying to fax something. I just thought you should know.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just got off the phone with my landlord, who keeps telling me he thinks all he will need to do to my carpet is clean it (which I would have to pay for), after 6+ years, 2 sick cats, and more than one nail polish incident because he thinks it's really clean.

He also wants to come look at the new mirrored closet doors he just had put in on Saturday, which is too bad, because one of the places Perkins the cat puked yesterday was on the floor runner thing.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That is so weird!

In my job, we have this crazy procedure (university wide) that requires an "original signature" of the cardholder on a specific form to pay for any non-degree credit bearing class. You can pay online for anything else. They will not take it online. They will not take it over the phone. They will take a scanned attachment. They will take it by fax. They feel, somehow, that the person cannot go to collections unless they have this signature.

I just had someone call and ask me what to do because her grandmother is paying for the course and the grandmother and she live in different states. I sooo wish she hadn't asked, because I am sure that most people in this situation just sign the grandmother's name and move on. But I can't tell her to do that. So I had to call the Bursar's office and ask what to do, and, since the form needs her signature too, she has to fax the form to her grandmother, who has to sign it and fax it to us. Seriously???
