Unrelated to cat-namage: I have a dearly-beloved taupe leather bag I've owned for 3 years, which I have used pretty much every single day since purchase. It's the perfect size, with just the right number of zippers and compartments, and it goes with everything.
Anyway, I've manhandled it shamefully and in the back of the bag, the leather's turned all grimey and darkly discoloured and even fraying a bit. I really should get a new bag, but I like this one, dammit. It's unfinished leather -- anyone has tips on how best to clean it? It's a three-year-old $100 bag and I don't want to spend a fortune getting it cleaned professionally.
