The dogs woke me at 6 but I managed to stay in bed until 7. Then I walked them 2 miles, fed them, cleaned the kitchen, ate breakfast, read the paper, started bread, vacuumed the house, cleaned the dogs' ears, and tried to train the puppy to come to me when I call her. (She will not.)
In a minute I will punch down the dough and shape the loaves.
I should be reading Christopher Isherwood.
I'm updating my CV and waiting for my best friend who abandoned me for SoCal (STILL BITTER AM I) to swing by with her family on their way back down to LA. They finally get to see my house.
Updating my CV because I notified my company on Friday that I am leaving. I was negotiating terms before it went into my written notice tomorrow. It's kind of funny because everyone from CEO to my direct reports knows that I am leaving now, except for the one person (our new CMO who is a classless, arrogant cretin) who was the proverbial straw to this camel's back. It will be interesting tomorrow, for sure.
I have been a mix of exhilerated, angry, sad, excited, etc this weekend. It's a lot like the end of a long relationship that once held a lot of promise but in the end just kind of sputters out. So, I have to say, it's a very familiar feeling. ;)
I have a new coat, creamer, cash but no camera. Decided not to do anything messy because I JUST CLEANED THE DAMNED HOUSE. I want to enjoy it for a moment or two.
Made use of a DD gift card, so at least I've eaten something today!
I'm glad you are moving on, java.
Want!
CORGITRON DEMANDS ALL YOUR SCRITCHES.
So far today I have baked bread, made chana masala for dinner tomorrow (it's better the second day - plus, no need to cook except rice tomorrow!), organized the cleanup of the children's rooms (first time since Xmas), done 2 loads of laundry and washed dishes twice. The mr. flea took the kids to Graeter's and the playground and I walked over to the consignment store and bought $7 work pants and discovered I really need to be getting more exercise.
Still to do: make chicken suoup with wild rice, sherry and cream, and make meatballs for dinner later this week. And write a professional blog post. And bathe the children.
Ah, that's really tough, javachik. Hope you find something better.
I am up and dressed and the bed is made. I'm about to make a to-do list and then get on it. Not ready to go back to work tomorrow. Feh.
Good on ya, java! That's a very empowering decision, not too hasty, after you've done your best to get along.
Me, I've done a couple errands, plus I just walked over to the new once-a-month Flea Market. Only about 10 vendors, but a lot of cute stuff, all of which I resisted, even the Breyer stubborn mule, and the autumn-gold-colored rotary phone. For I am strong that way.
Worked this morning, but the ER took extra long to get out of, so I was running late. And then, technical issues took half an hour to work around (not fix--I still have no access to email), and I still couldn't get anywhere in order to report that I'd done the work.
However, that half problem is finished now, and I'll save the fixing part for someone else's time.
Watching a movie with Brendan Fraser and Jet Li. Wait, there was a movie with Brendan Fraser and Jet Li? I hadn't realised I'd missed a Mummy.
Organized all the things I brought with me to organize this weekend this morning; ran a few errands; did some laundry of mine and theirs, showered, unloaded the dishwasher, packed up the car (and turned it on! It hasn't been anywhere for a week, I realized as I was loading up).
I still need to research my car sitch and report back that it's done (well, and figure out all the steps I need to take and how much it will cost), and do some crocheting. But first I am going to read a bit of my new library book, then drive home. Possibly eat dinner here; I don't know. It's so nice only living forty minutes away!
Oh, and I have a call tonight. Forgot about that. I'd better put that in my phone.
