right bon, and connie would be the first person to use hyperbole about a group on this board. sorry you feel that way, but I think it was snitty and uncalled for.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, go read my cookie-competitor's intro chapter.

I have already pre-ordered the book!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think the dog incident is very telling about Romney, as is Gingrich's treatment of his wives and Ron Paul's support of the Trilateral Commission conspiracy theory, but I wouldn't tar the whole party with those brushes.

For one thing, it wouldn't explain John Edwards. Or Anthony Weiner.

YAY! Really. She's a fun person to talk to (at least about cookie baking,) we share a Y and love for it, and her writing voice is her speaking voice, which is one of those things I am just in awe of. (I'm pretty sure my speaking voice is SO MUCH MORE RANDOM than my writing voice.)

I've had some very interesting conversations this week, and this release just fits in perfectly to them.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I volunteer in greyhound rescue.

The foster coordinator of the moment has a Rick Perry bumper sticker and a Bark if You're a Republican sign.

I don't talk politics with her. There's hyperbole, sure, but I felt that comment went above and beyond.

Mitt? Tool. Ass. Jerk.

Doesn't change that the bulk of the animal professionals I know, especially the ones involved in rescue, have been conservatives.

I'm not reading bon's comments as uncalled for. Just calling on. Remarking.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

John Edwards: still hanging around my town (I guess he has to, because of his trial and all), still the worst. Ugh.

Saw Tinker Tailor, no spy for a bus driver though.

eta: That Mitt story has always made me ill. Like, actually ill.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Seriously, I'm pretty offended by the suggestion that while swathes of people who have non-animal beliefs care less about animals.

Last time I spoke about something like this, there was a whole "looking to be offended" arc sparked off it, and I got into my typical overexplaining mode, and it's Friday and I'm tired, and I don't think I should have to be offended by something like this to call it out, but hey.

Just because I know we love when one of our own gets all pedantic:

what was originally posted was:

I may be misjudging conservatives, but I know several for whom the feelings of their dog are meaningless--or, to them, nonexistent. It's a creature that God gave them dominion over, somewhat pleasant company, keeps the kids happy. A possession that walks. Worrying about a dog's feelings makes as much sense to them as worrying about the feelings of the toaster.

qualification, followed by several statement about specific acquaintances

No extrapolation to all conservatives.

I still love you, msbelle, just so you know.
