Reynolds, I'm a dangerous-minded man on a ship loaded with hurt. Now, why you got me chatting with your peons?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My issue is the author of the piece is condescending and comes across like a tool.

This is often my issue. "It's not that I disagree with you on this particular subject. You're just such an ass. So please shut up."

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

This is often my issue. "It's not that I disagree with you on this particular subject. You're just such an ass. So please shut up."

This can be applied to so many people in so many instances.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"It's not that I disagree with you on this particular subject. You're just such an ass. So please shut up."

I'm getting into trouble because my stance is too often "It's not that I disagree with your conclusion, but the method by which you state you arrived there is faulty. Please show your work."

That's really not popular. Who would have thought?

Don't magpies get distracted by new shiny things?

Because books.

Magpies are more collectors, though. They're nature's hoarders.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Flibbertigibbet is n awesome word.

And, dcp, it's amazing. It's so smooth, and it's got 80% letoff so it feels like I could stand there forever. It's super adjustable in both draw length and weight, so I can play around with it while I'm getting set up.

Eta: thanks, Jen!

I kind of thought so, sumi, but then my definitions were "chatters noisily," and "collects indiscriminately," so I wasn't happy with it in the context I was using it. Though, getting distracted by the next shiny new thing could lead to indiscriminate collecting, so...

That's really what I was going for, though, you nailed it -- distracted by shiny things.
