Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This shirt took me a moment to get, but then it made me laugh.

I just laughed into my conference call. Thank doodly no one asked me to explain.

Quaintance

Nuh-huh. So not a real name.

My mother once told my best friend (thanks for the condolences, by the way) that she made up the pronunciation of her name. *My* mother. Who, you know, made up the spelling of my name. She intimidated the fuck out of Deb-oh-rah, and BFF refused to talk to her, for fear of further incurring her disapproval.

How many people here always (at least try to) type "Doctor Who" and not "Dr. Who"? I can't work out why I do that. Is it written somewhere that it's the way? (Also, FTR, he's not *called* "Doctor Who". He's called "The Doctor".)

(I like it when you use my name)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And now I'm imagining the potential for an octuple bypass surgery.

Preferably by an Octopus Surgeon. And as our scaling of Octopus intelligence keeps going up, I expect they could easily do some heart surgery.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Again, not being a watcher, I managed to pick up that bit of protocol from the Interpipes. The internet is helpful in giving me just enough fannish info that I can understand at least the outer candy shell of discussion about some shows/movies/books/etc.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I skipped and skimmed. I am back from travel.

It was horrid. When I am less traumatized and tired, I may talk about it. I may not.

But I all back and survived, even though air travel obviously wanted to kill me, and now I am trying to get back into the groove. This will involve a daytime nap and a shower today. BLEARGH.

So, hello. Happy New Year.

That's another secret Big Medicine is hiding from the average person. You get anesthesia before you undergo bypass surgery, so it COULD be a cephalopod fixing your heart. AND YOU'LL NEVER KNOW.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I kind of hope it is, actually. All those extra arms should be good for something.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

How many people here always (at least try to) type "Doctor Who" and not "Dr. Who"?

*raises hand*

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Anyone have girl with dragon tattoo they would let me borrow?

I think I have the third one you can have, if you get that far. (I'm always doing this -- reading the first in a series from the library, liking it, and then not wanting to wait for later ones from the library!)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I have, alas, pretty much given up on the library. At one point I racked up some sizeable fines for overdue/missing books ... which I'd returned but they hadn't been checked in properly and had been reshelved in the wrong places, so there was no way to prove that I didn't still have them.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

(I'm always doing this -- reading the first in a series from the library, liking it, and then not wanting to wait for later ones from the library!)

This is why I am trying to contain myself from buying the third Huger Games one. Seriously, I can wait a month, but I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NOW!!!
