I see it used a lot by local arts & crafts vendors. Really makes sense if you are doing the market/fair circuit.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

A lot of the food trucks out here use Square.

Because books.

I was thinking more for the personal ways people tend to use it, such as here, although I can see Square being great for vendors.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ugh. I've got some active items on eBay right now and a few more to do by the end of the week, but once those are all cleared I'm closing my PayPal account. That's... that's just rancid.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I keep hearing ads for Popmoney on NPR, but am not familiar with it [link] Might be time to look into it.

Trust my rage

We use Square in my business and it has been really great.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Lots of vendors at RollerCon used Square and some guys at Brickworld did, too. It was really easy (too easy) to make purchases!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm obviously happy to move the b.org business, if we can figure out where to...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nearly everyone takes PayPal.

I wish more did, honestly. But I have to get out my credit card an annoying amount of the time.

I did some reading up on PayPal a couple weeks ago, when one of the founders made the news talking some bullshit. It's not good. However, I don't know of anywhere better, and I don't know of an eBay alternative. So I've been frustrated by my continuing dependence on them for a time now.

(Seriously--scan their Wikipedia page, and then discard half of it as excessive--there's still enough to get under your skin)

I just can't work out how to not chop my own foot off in order to calm my conscience. Also, I'm pretty convinced that all companies are evil, and I have to decide how much I can tolerate. I'm not resolved on that front yet.

I have SquareCase installed and set up on my phone, but I hear they're not reliable for vendors, and there are still outstanding questions of their security for purchasers. Also, their Android app at least has some severe usability issues. So I'm not sold on them yet.

I use Google Wallet too, but whose slate is clean?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This is how I feel too. I often buy on eBay, and almost all the vendors I frequent are "PayPal only". I buy vintage jewelry; there's not another source as good. If I stop using them, I can't do something I like anymore. And if by doing so, I could actually make a difference, I would, but it won't. I can't kick their enormous brass balls hard enough to hurt them; I'll only hurt me. And in a small way, the vendors, who wouldn't be getting my money anymore.
