'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh ita, I'm so sorry. It is quite an ordinary mistake, made by people who aren't distracted by chronic headaches, holidays and sick mothers. Don't blame yourself any more than you would someone else with all those distractions, K?

question. I am applying for some retail jobs, I am really not opposed to working retail and see if I can manage. Anyway, my resume doesn't really look like retail is a natural fit. Should I say in my resume that I am looking for a second career? Would something like "looking for opportunities other than desk jobs" be smart or too negative.

Erin, I may need to hire you.

ALso, I dug around in the dirt for an hour and felt a bit better.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think it is worth talking to the Enterprise people to see if they will waive the dropoff fee given the circumstances. I think a manager might be understanding and waive it.

I'd have to talk to someone higher up on the chain, since the two people I've spoken to so far were very nonchalant about it. And it would also involve driving to the airport (some miles), negotiating getting home (and possibly being out of pocket for that too), and having absolutely no leverage when I try and get them to charge me the $35/day weekly rate rather than the $70/day rate for a FORD FUCKING FIESTA, since I've only had it since Thursday.

I think I have a better shot at the $35/day locally Monday than at a high-traffic site with people I've never met. So that's my rationale for my current plan.

Kat, I'm going to have to hit you up for those later, but I really don't think I'm up to it right now. Thanks, though.

msbelle, emphasize any Customer Service experience. That's pretty much what they want, I think.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

ita, that really sucks. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am so sorry, ita. I wish none of this had happened.

I took -t to my new house today, and she liked it, I think! I also met one of my neighbors, who is really nice, and had great things to say about the neighborhood. Now we are back at the apartment watching Community and nibbling on TJs stuff. Soon there may be sushi and more champagne. All in all a good way to end the year.
