Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

YAY BABY! Here's to making good new families.

Yay, Gris! Be awesome parents!

One of the things I love (until a pipe bursts) is that the line for the bathroom radiator runs under the tile floor. So it is always warm right in front of the tub. I thought I was imagining it, but I keep finding the cats sleeping right there, so I know it isn't just me.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, sara, that's ridiculous. I'm glad she's got your family.

Finally watched the JGL+ZD vid. Yeah, she still leaves an icky film in my mouth. I just can't handle the concentrated twee. Lordie.

Still got the love on for him, though. Why isn't he in cute videos with people not her or Channing Tatum?

Jamaican elections are tallied. The woman who spoke up about looking at the buggery law won. Despite what she said, which was regarded as political suicide by everyone, even people that agreed with her. So much so that it was wondered if there was money coming her way for it, or influence external to Jamaica. It's not a brave thing to say, it's just...doesn't make sense. Much better to do than to announce it in advance.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I am thinking about going to the beach on Sunday.

It's supposed to warm up? I'm fucking freezing right now.

75 in Santa Monica!

Ok, I keep the heater at like 74, because I am a glutton with reptile blood. Also because LA apartments aren't ever insulated, but mostly the former thing.

Oh, okay. Beach, but not in swimsuit, I'm assuming? Or just projecting?

Congrats!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Jeez, sarameg, how awful for her. I'm glad she has you in her life.

Echoing amyth, because I have no words.

Gris, YAY!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

What temp do people keep their house at in the winter?

I set my thermostat on 65° during the day and 67° or 68° at night. But the thermostat is on my back wall, furthest from the windows and shared with the apartment behind me; I spend most of my waking time at my desk or on the couch (both about 9' from the ginormous central picture window). So the air temperature here is probably more like 62° or 60°, and the space heater sees a lot of use.

I am thrilled to discover that sassafrass tea has no caffeine.
