Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I know several people who love their progressives. I've never been able to adjust to them. They have a sweet spot--almost like a peephole where focus is optimal (u c wut I did there?), the rest of the lens doesn't have that razor focus. H almost wrecked his truck because his peripheral vision was so blurred he didn't see the car that ran the stopsign on his right.

That's exactly what I dislike about mine -- my peripheral vision is so blurred it's almost as bad as my uncorrected vision, and the field of vision that's actually useable is too small.

My new dishwasher is old school (there's a lever! and a dial!), and it cleans old school too. I got used to leaving food on dishes, but with this dishwasher, in order to get it clean, I have to clean it almost as much as if I'm just washing it.

That's my dishwasher too. Old school. I didn't know there were dishwashers that didn't have levers and dials... but it works, so I'm not shopping for a new one just yet. 2012 is the Year of Saving Money, for me. I haven't had a savings account since I spent all my money moving here in 2009. It makes me nervous, not having any cushion at all.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Oh, it works, but I just got used to the newfangled one with the buttons that you don't have to rinse the dishes.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, so Nancy Grace is pretty odious, but man her rant right now is seductive. I don't watch her at all (hostage at parents house, previously stated), but her discussion of this recent murder case (the man confessed to murdering a child) is WILD. I am completely sucked into her theatrical rage. It is so over the top. I cannot get over it.

If this is how she is every day, I can see why she has viewers.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So glad mac got cooperative. Guess the holiday season is over...

I've progressed from fighting the bug to shit, I have a bug. Turns out my dad does too. Probably from my SIL, who hit up the dr the first day I was there, she felt bronchitis hitting. Am hoping to avoid that fate (she's super prone to that. ) Need to replenish my mucinex and real sudafed supplies.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back from another trip to Florida. Survived another visit to my folks.(Got a fresh reminder of why I have some food/weight issues. Nothing directed at me, but still...) Have to go to work tomorrow. Bleah.

Dear makeup people,

Did Maybelline discontinue Full'N Soft? mascara I can't find it anywhere. What's a good drugstore replacement? (I liked it because it was not clumpy, didn't flake, and coated nice in multiple layers without getting stumpy. And cheap.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I had dinner with Ginger tonight! And a friend of hers who is clearly a Buffista spirit baby. Very fun! Then I went and fed a friend's cat, came home and fed mine, and then went next door to ask the neighbors if one of them could come scoop our litterboxes, which... was kind of awkward! But they were super nice and came right over. (Pregnant ladies aren't supposed to handle cat poop, but they really needed to be done at least once before M gets home on Thursday, and all our regular catsitters/helpers are out of town.)

Now I should be unloading/loading the dishwasher and doing laundry, but I think instead I will drink some tea, eat some TJ's toffee, and watch something silly on Hulu. Am tiiiiiiiiired.
