That is sad, Scrappy.

So, I'm in the hospital for my Mom. Diabetic and appears a small cut on the leg got infected. This happened five years ago and went on way too long before it was discovered; this seems to have been caught much earlier. Short of breath this morning for a bit, too, so they're checking for heart stuff. Seems like IV antibios in the hospital for a couple days from doc's preliminary assessment. She's extra bummed about the timing, of course. Calm, though. My sister's here, too. We shall carry on. It's how we do.

Omg, best holiday convo ever. Toilet Paper And Also Family Scandals. I love you guys!

So far today I got up to feed smonster's cats and go grocery shopping for Xmas lasagna fixins. Then back to bed for napping. It's a cold dreary day out there, inspiring little more than that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Bathroom tissue issues are exactly the sort of thing that family travel is fraught with. Like, when I run out the roll, where is the replacement? And if I have to ask for it, am I being a wasteful, extravagant tissue user?

It's possible I have issues. With my tissues.

X-post with Jen- I'm sorry about your mom! Hoping for quick and easy healing.

brillig

My tissue issues are with work. The big house, ie, the fancy office building where the executives are, has two-ply in all the restrooms. Here in the bunk house, ie, tech support, we have one-ply. Yes, I noticed. Yes, it irks.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Found a bag of crack on the sidewalk outside my dad's house this morning. So that was nice. I just steered the dog away.

Wow! I remember finding bags of pot outside my girlfriends house one day...I think she eventually smoked them.

I was just in the unflattering light of the airport bathroom, and my skin looks seriously awful. Wtf, face??

Thanks, Nora.

...she smoked the pot she found outside her house. That doesn't seem advisable.
